After careful consultation with numerous individuals and event organizers regarding the health and safety of everyone involved with our fall festival, – our donors, our residents, our employees, our exhibitors, and our longtime attendees – we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Fall Festival, scheduled for September 19th in Carmi.
We are exploring options to coordinate an online experience to showcase our ministry and continue to provide our quilt auction this year. Updates will be shared on our website, bchfs.com.
The BCHFS team thanks everyone who supports BCHFS. The decision to cancel is disappointing since we will not be together. Our staff looks forward to bringing you a reimagined online event this Fall and a bigger brighter Fall Festival in 2021.
Here is the official letter from Executive Director, Denny Hydrick.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: BCHFS will abide by all government guidelines regarding COVID-19. Please refer to this event page, the BCHFS website or the BCHFS Facebook page for updates on cancellation.
Saturday, September 19th from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Silent Auction begins at 9 a.m.) With this carnival-like atmosphere, you are sure to have a wonderful time! Enjoy lots of game booths, a free lunch, entertainment, quilt auction, and a silent auction of crafts and specialty items. Come share in this day of celebration as we benefit the children and families in our care – and learn a little more about BCHFS along the way.
This year’s festival promises to be another great experience featuring:
Donate a Quilt or Silent Auction Item
Antique or newly made king, queens, full, twin can be entered in the quilt auction. Quality handmade arts/crafts, theme baskets, men, women, children items of interest for silent auction (please no used or yard sale items). Note: All silent auction entries and quilts should be at the BCHFS offices no later than noon on September 11.
QUILTS NOTE: To adequately prepare, the festival committee requires that quilts be on the campus by September 11. When entering, please include in writing the name of the pattern, size of the quilt and approximate date the quilt was made. The quilts auction will begin at 12:30 pm.
SILENT AUCTION: Quality hand-made arts and crafts, including crochet and other yarn/needlework may be entered in the silent auction. Funds from both auctions benefit BCHFS ministries around Illinois, so enter your very best and come prepared to bid! We need these items no later than September 11. (Please no used or yard sale items)
How do YOU participate in the Fall Festival?
Provide a booth, donate a quilt or auction item, or volunteer while sharing in the great fun.
Please help us by enlisting your Sunday school class, WMU group, youth group, or even your Senior Adults to provide a booth. We hope that you will promote this as an opportunity to serve our ministries in Illinois. Please encourage your church family to attend this event. It will give them an opportunity to see our campus and to enjoy a fun-filled day!
