Faith Adoption Ministry, Part 2, Parents Seeking to Adopt.

For couples looking to adopt, Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services (BCHFS) is here to help find the child God has called them to adopt. BCHFS is fully licensed in adoptive services for Illinois. Adoption services may be through our domestic adoption program or home study and or post-placement services for international or private domestic agencies.

As a licensed agency in the state of Illinois, we provide home study services statewide for couples seeking to adopt in the United States or internationally.  Home studies are written with the specific adoption in mind.  Post-placement services are provided as required by the placement agency or country placing the child.  Domestic and international (Hague-approved) training is available to meet the requirements of adoption and better prepare families on the important issues of adoption.

As an agency that provides services related to international adoptions, BCHFS is a HAGUE accredited agency.  Hague Accreditation by the Council on Accreditation is a national qualification that attests to our compliance with the ethical and moral standards of practice in international adoption as set by the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption treaty, the U.S. Universal Accreditation Act and the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000.   The Hague Convention established specific practice standards regarding international adoption which all Hague Accredited agencies must meet.   These standards establish safeguards for children and prospective adoptive families to ensure that intercountry adoptions take place in the best interests of the child.  The standards prevent the abduction, exploitation, sale, or trafficking of children and provide protections for prospective adoptive parents regarding the adoption process and expense.   The Council on Accreditation completed an extensive and exhaustive investigation of our practices to ensure that our agency’s services are compliant with Hague standards and that we provide quality, ethical services that are in the best interest of children, protect children from exploitation, and ensure quality service to prospective adoptive families.

This accreditation affirms our standards of care in providing adoption services.  Our ministry desires to connect Christian couples wishing to adopt with the child God has chosen for them.
